I can’t believe I'm almost to the end of my service.  Looking back at everything I’ve done in such a short time, there are a couple of projects that will always stand out during my service with Montana No Kid Hungry AmeriCorps.

     1) Fight Childhood Hunger Week: I organized a basketball competition between staff and students.  I can’t express how much I enjoyed that day.  My passion is not only to help kids that are going hungry, but I also love the time I spend interacting with all the students.  That same day, I was able to run around with the kids from North Middle School and it made me feel like a kid again!  This is exactly what makes me want to continue working with young people.

     2) Another memorable project that I enjoyed was the Montana Cook Fresh Class.  I had so much fun learning how to make healthy meals, as well as learning the special techniques for how to use a knife properly to prepare all sorts of foods.  If I could, I would take it again - it was very useful!

Lastly, I am getting prepared for the Summer Meals Program. I am recruiting volunteers to lead activities with the kids throughout the Summer Meals Program, as well as our kick-off events.  I made valuable connections with community members and local businesses that are willing to help out.  I am also working on promotions, such as a PSA with Central Montana Radio.  I also wrote a brief letter about the Summer Meal Program for The Great Falls Mail Tribune, and The Great Falls News.  I am anxious to see how many kids we feed this year!
